About Bill
I was born and raised in Union City, IN and moved to Portland during my high school days. Mary and I have been married for forty-four years and are fortunate to have raised our three daughters in this small community. Our family has grown. We have eight grand kids, all of which are involved in sports. That puts us on the road to the Ft. Wayne area alot. What great fun!
Being involved in our community has been a very important part of our lives. We are both active in our church and have served on committees and boards in our community. Volunteering, as you know, is one of the keys to helping our hometowns grow and prosper. We all can serve in different ways.
I am proud to have been a founding member and to have served on the board of the Jay County Economic Development Corporation for almost 20 years. As a long-time Portland businessman, I understand the need for small businesses to be able to maintain and expand their current operations as well as the need for a friendly environment that will encourage new businesses to open.
As your State Representative, I consider my job to be a very important one. I was honored to be appointed Chairman of the Public Policy Committee by Speaker Bosma. I continue to serve on Roads and Transportation , the Committee for Commerce and Economic Development and the Committee on Labor. I appreciate the opportunity to represent you and hope to continue.
