About Bill

I was born and raised in Union City, IN and moved to Portland during my high school days.  Mary and I have been married for forty-three years and are fortunate to have raised our three daughters in this small community. We now have eight grandchildren that are all in school and active in sports. We spend alot of time on the road as they all live in and around the Ft. Wayne area.

Being involved in our community has been a very important part of our lives. We are both active in our church and serve on committees and boards in our community. Volunteering, as you know, is one of the keys to helping all of our hometowns grow and prosper.  I am proud to have been a founding member and to have served on the board of the Jay County Economic Development Corp. for almost 20 years.  As a long-time Portland businessman, I understand the need for small businesses to be able to maintain and expand their current operations. In these tough economic times, government can help create an environment that will encourage new business and industry to locate in our communities.

I was first elected to the General Assembly in 2004. As your State Representative, I consider my job a very important one as the decisions made and votes taken affect many people. I would encourage you to continue to contact me with your ideas, needs and concerns. I appreciate the opportunity to represent you. Bill
