About Bill

I was born and raised in Union City, IN and moved to Portland during my high school days.  Mary and I have been married for forty-one years and are fortunate to have raised our three daughters in this small community.  Our family has grown as you can see by the picture with our eight grandkids, all of which are terrific, of course.

Being involved in our community has been a very important part of our lives. We are both active in our church and serve on committees and boards in our community. Volunteering, as you know, is one of the keys to helping our hometowns grow and prosper.  I am proud to have been a founding member and to have served on the board of the Jay County Economic Development Corp. for almost 20 years.  As a long-time Portland businessman, I understand the need for small businesses to be able to maintain and expand their current operations as well as create an environment that will encourage new businesses to open. I believe we all can make contributions in different ways to better our hometowns.

As your State Representative, I consider my job to be a very important one.  I appreciate the opportunity to represent you and hope to continue.
